I have been working on brooches recently, small decorations with
important messages.
So often I return from my gardening jobs with leaves sticking in my hair
or on my clothes.
These embroidered leaves evoke the same feeling of just coming in from
the fresh air and giving attention to small natural things.
My jewelry is sent all over the world - postage free.
At the end of last term the have learned to embroider some
leaves and finally lost their fear of the sewing machine.
I have now taken a break from teaching, my class is enjoying painting
with Martha Meyer and pottery with Kathy Beard in the meantime
inspirations gathered on a waiheke beach from driftwood telling stories
of voyages at sea
the past weekend brought sleepy Russell alive with some awesome Jazz and
Blues Sounds for the annual festival -
the old Bay Belle ferry was steaming forward and backwards across the
channel with full loads
…while the pub had its own action with a gathering of about 80 old
timer car fans
