Woven wire / linen jewelry

New experiments with rigid woven wire / linen jewelry -
not the usual body decoration - but very pleasant and to wear without the
coldness of solid metal.

Felted slippers

these slippers where made from the left over felt pieces - a leather
sole was added for durability.
not sure if the girls found them as beautiful as I thought they where-
it took us a long Sunday afternoon to make them and they did not look
the same on each foot!

Silk painting for young starters

In this class the students where very young and sometimes needed to be encouraged to use both hands for coordination.
I gave them  a first experience with painting silk, the flow of the paint and the mix of colors.
I was surprised how much white space the children insisted to leave blank, expecting them somehow to use every bit of the nice blank surface.

First hand experience with needle and thread as decoration was added. A set of free hanging fish where created by stitching the fabric around some pliable bamboo. The light shines beautifully through fine silk and a breeze easily brings movement.

Amazingly comfortable cushions

Today the children arrived totally crazy at class - they have had a
clown performance at their local primary school and felt out of themselves.
Full of enthusiasm they dived into the bulky soft wool and bright
colours and created some amazingly comfortable cushions.
